The textile market today is characterized by ever shorter product life-cycles, a growing variety of fabrics and increasing demands on textile manufacturers in regard to quality and ability to deliver. Only those producers who can process the widest range of products in the shortest possible time and of a first-class quality remain competitive. There is a demand for new ideas that will help detect bow and skew to the required standard and at the same time monitor pattern repeat or pick-count. At the ITMA 2005 in Singapore, Mahlo launched a new system for bow and skew detection - hybrid scanning.
